CrewSIM™

The MCP CrewSIM™ subscription allows crewmembers to make and receive voice calls and SMS (text messaging) when within MCP’s cellular network onboard the ship or offshore installation.

Crew subscribes to CrewSIM™ in the same manner as when subscribing to a regular mobile provider on shore and it is a convenient prepaid service. To refill accounts crew can purchase electronic “top-ups” from the vending machines onboard.

With CrewSIM™, crewmembers all over the world can now be reached and stay in touch with friends and family at affordable rates, whenever at sea.

Change of CEO in Maritime Communications Partner (MCP)
As recently announced by Telenor, Pål Bjørdal has been appointed as new CEO of the Telenor’s subsidiary AeroMobile from September 1.

Current MCP Director of Strategy, Alf S. Aanonsen, will take on the position as acting CEO of MCP as from the same date, ensuring business continuity while the position is posted.

Aanonsen has extensive operational management experience within MCP, which he joined since the start in 2002. He worked 13 years for Ericsson before joining MCP, within product-, project- and sales management.
Aanonsen holds an MSc degree within Computer Science from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), a Master of Management from the BI Norwegian School of Management, and a Bachelor degree within Economics also from BI.
